“Stan McMurtry MBE”

For over 50 years Stan McMurtry has been known internationally as the renowned MAC cartoonist, with the Daily Mail and Mail On Sunday.  We are pleased to announce that we are shortly releasing his second brilliant novel, ‘Half Human’, following his successful debut novel ‘The Golden Chrysalis’.

He has been voted ‘Cartoonist of the Year’ six times and ‘Political Cartoonist of the Year’ twice.

Additionally, together with a colleague, he wrote scripts for comedians Dave Allen and Tommy Cooper, which is testament to his extraordinary good sense of humour and fun.

Mac was awarded the MBE in 2004 for services to the Newspaper, his legendary industry.  He was a “Castaway” on Desert Island Discs in 2008, has been invited to Number 10 by the then prime minister Margaret Thatcher.  As if that wasn’t enough, he was voted one of the ‘Men of the Year’ in 1983.

“Half Human”

Divorcé Fergus Munroe meets the beautiful and intriguing Jenny Merridew at a function.  The two are drawn to each other and soon fall in love and marry. Happiness abounds and they live each day in a state of bliss. They marry and move into a tiny 300 year old rundown cottage in Kent where, during renovations, Fergus discovers the diary of a young girl hidden in a bedroom wall. The diary describes several gruesome murders which took place in the vicinity over 150 years ago.

As more such frightening incidents occur, Jenny starts to become really afraid and decides they should sell the place. However, with a stagnant house market, that is impossible.  Jokingly they give their ghost a name but neither Fergus nor Jenny has any inkling of the true horror that awaits them in that sweet, small cottage in the countryside.

Caught in the crossfire of superstition and dread, Fergus must unravel the mystery behind this strange entity before it devours the very fabric of their existence. With each passing night, the line between reality and nightmare blurs. The battle for the village becomes a race against time, trapping Fergus and his friends as they fight for their lives.

“The Golden Chrysalis”

Eddie Wheatley is a self-described ‘meek and mild’ man in his late thirties, who lives in the East End with his overbearing wife, Miriam and his dog, Rufus.  He works in a dead-end job for Miriam’s tyrannical father and his marriage is on the rocks.

The only time Eddie feels alive is when he takes Rufus for walks in the early morning hours, his only chance to escape from Miriam and the suffocating atmosphere at home.

But on one such walk, Eddie Wheatley stumbles across something that will change his life for ever.  He sees some men secretively unloading a truck in an alleyway where he has taken cover against the rain.

Little does Eddie know that what he witnessed there will turn his life upside down; it will put him and those he cares for in mortal danger and will make him question his very existence and what he believes to be right.
